Great Grandma's house
It was really hard at night to keep my hands in side my covers to keep the spiders and snake from getting them for under the bed. Every night at grandma it was the same fight to keep the covers on< I would wake up when the Train would go by and I could see the the light in the window, as the window started to shake from the big steam engine on the track just 50 feet away, my arm was out again I quickly jerked it in to safe it from the creasues under the bed. My live then was in jeperdy from the falling glass in the window, then the train passed by click a de clack click a de clack, I would count the sound up to 200 some nights ,my brother a I would alway do that during the day count the trin cars, some days a train would have 110 coal cars. then it would be dark and the sound would stop, soon I would be asleep..the next morning it was up and out to cut kindling for the wood stove .Grandma would start the stove and she would spit on the top and when the spit would slzzly a nd pop the fire was hot and soon bresfast would be severed...Then off the the creek to play all day.it was summer and we had 3 month there at Grandma, my two older brothers and I, My mother had a new Husband and she dropped us off like fresh milk.never to see her untill labor day week end. then back to school..
